Have I done any good today?

It is a funny thing when for some reason in one lesson and meeting someone for the first time, they teach you something that you needed to hear and learn from. I don't know about you, but that happens to me quite frequently. Today I went visiting teaching in my ward for the first time with a gal I had never met. She offered to do the lesson and I brought some goodies. The topic we were supposed to discuss was our choice from any conference talk, and she chose Have I done any good Today from Thomas S. Monson. Basically it was saying that you need to consume yourself in helping others and giving to others without complaint. If you did not hear it or read I suggest you do because it is very powerful.
My problem lately and why this message was so powerful to me was because lately I have found myself being very selfish with the time I have with my husband. I love him so much that I don't really like it when he does things for other people because he does so often, because he is a good person with a big heart. He is always so giving and he enjoys helping others and doing things for them that need to be done. I find myself very irritated with him for this because I want ME time and FAMILY time. I realized today that I need to have a bigger heart like Steve does and start doing my own services and giving of myself freely. There are so many that need help and so many that I can do something good for, but I have not been looking for it. so basically I am going to try to do something good for others... Now ask yourself...

HAVE YOU DONE ANY GOOD TODAY? and APPLY it in your life:)

November 2009

It Has been such a crazy month! Lots to talk and write about and not a whole ton of time either! I will give it my best shot though.

For starters we are still renting out our home in Eagle Mountain so that we have to freedom to go wherever the road takes us with out of state jobs. Steve has been applying mostly just in Idaho but also a couple here in Utah. He applied for a parole officer job in Salt Lake City and had an interview a couple weeks ago that went really well, but the talk is that they are just bringing back in the rifters, so the interview process was a big waste of time we think. He also applied at a place called the site in Idaho Falls. It is an officer job as well and actually pays considerably higher than what he is getting paid now. We are Looking at about 50 grand a year if he gets this job. He was called for an interview on December 1st, they are hiring 8 people and there are 40 people being interviewed. We are really crossing our fingers and praying that he lands this job. We have wanted and felt like we should move to Idaho for some time, but have not had the opportunity with jobs thus far. We are hoping that with some faith that things will work out the way they are supposed to.

Steve and I just recently got the opportunity to go on the cruise wer have had planned since January of this year! Long time to wait. We left on November 1st for Mexico on the Carnival Cruise lines. It was the new ship, and was not all that impressive after seeing other ships, but it was still really fun. We went to Puerto Vallarta Mexico first. The place was a dump! no seat belts in any vehicles, kids driving cars, trash and feces all over the place, you could just smell it! We did a shore excursion with zip lining in the jungle part which was extremely fun! HAd a little clothing mishap on one of the lines while hanging upside down, but not much can be done to make that go away LOL. We went down thirteen ziplines and then had some yummy fresh made salsa and chips.... Then we took the long ride back to our ship. We then went to Mazatlan, where we had horseback riding on the beach! That was way fun! We got to run our horses in the water and see dead sting rays on the beach from the hurricane that had just ended. Lots of puffer fish and stingrays were on the beach. Sad to see them there :( we ended that one at a fish house where i had a chicken cheese quesadilla that was simply more amazing than I can even describe and steve got fresh mahi mahi that was to die for! The next day we were in Cabo san Lucas which was so beautiful! All we did there was do the shopping, we got some really pretty hand painted plates and bowls for super cheap and some cute presents for our girls. All in all it was an unforgettable trip that we look forward to doing again! Here are a few pictures of the trip!

Lastly and I think the most exciting of all is about a week before I started to get really sick. I was nauseous all the time and I thought for sure I had the flu because everyone else did. I decided against all odds that I would take a pregnancy test even though I just knew it would be negative because it took so long for our second one. We had only tried once, but I guess that one time did it because there it was in bold letters PREGNANT! I was thrilled but also kind of nervous because Our youngest was only 9 months and I was nervous about what people would say and think. But after some time and a lot of negative feedback, I decided that I would just forget them all! if the didnt like it then forget them! it was not their choice, not their life. This is mine. I told myself that I was commanded to multiply and replenish the earth and that I was building my eternal family and i was happy with how it was going! So I just brushed it all off and said deal with it cause it is not going to go away. So we are expecting our third child June 19th ( so far) I will have a better date at my next app when they can see the baby better and get more accurate readings! We are crossing our fingers and toes and counting our lucky stars that this is a boy! third times the charm! We will keep you posted on this wonderful event and post pictures when we have them! Thanks to all those who are supportive and who are happy for us:) We are thrilled to be opening our family up to a new little angel!

OUr Brynlee who is now ten months old just started walking. She only crawled for about 3 weeks before she started taking one or two steps and then falling, but while we were away on our cruise she got the hang of it and is now walking full time and has some major attitude LOL. She especially likes to growl and hear her own voice. She is so full of energy and we love her so much! KaraLynn is 3 and has too much energy for me, sometimes I wish she would transfer some over to me so I can get through this morning sickness crap. She is such a big helper and just recently moved into her own room in the basement which she says she shares with her imaginary friend called "cousin" He has white eyes and goes everywhere with her. We even have to tuck him in at night and give him blankets and stuffed animals and give him kisses before bed. Weird, I know, but it makes her happy. I'm sure every kid goes through this, and it is a fun adventure!
Sorry im so horrible with updating, I need to do better but just never find the time. maybe that will be my goal for next year, to keep writing in my blog often. This is us for now! until my next entry!
