Thanksgiving

This Thanksgiving was a bitter sweet one. We decided that as a family we would go to Idaho to steve's side of the family. His cousin Jeremy was in town from california and he had not seen him in a few years and wanted to catch up with him, so we decided that that would be the best move. Originally we were going to be having Thanksgiving with steves parents at his Aunt Kathi's but since his cousin was here thats what we did. His parents were pretty bummed about us not being there this year. I was torn both ways because I didnt get to see any of my immediate family. My parents decided that they would go to Washington with my dads cousin Bev, so I was sad not to see them. The first Thanksgiving not seeing them was harder than I thought it would be.
Idaho was really fun in the end... we arrived at steves aunts house at midnight thanksgiving day. IT was only a three hour drive from our house but we left later than we thought. We went to bed at 1:45 and then woke up at 6 am when steves cousin jeremy came into the room to give steve a hug, which woke up kara and made it so I could not sleep anymore. so we all got up and got ready for the day bright and early. we ended up falling asleep on the couch around 8:30 and slept until 10:30, which for me was very much needed being 8 months pregnant. We then went to Aftons house (steves other cousin) and hung out with them for several hours before the actual festivities started. Steve started frying the turkey at 3:30(we cannot have Thanksgiving without the fried turkey! so much better than oven turkey) and it was done within an hour so we had to wait to eat it until six! that was torture. In the end we had a lot of amazing food, saw a lot of family from my husbands side and talked a lot about past days. On friday around noon we decided we would go check out what black friday sales were looking like at the mall and toys r us. We ended up buying as a combined gift for steve and I a Nikon D40 camera with two lenses and a bunch of ad ons for only five hundred and saved 1400! we were thrilled. At the mall we each bought two pair of jeans and I also bought two shirts, and then at toys r us KaraLynn helped us choose out the gifts she would like for christmas. since she is only two she wont remember any of them so she had fun! we finally finished up our christmas shopping for everyone except for steves mom and then the rest of the gifts to exchange between steve and I. We hung out at julies ( steves Aunt) until friday night and then headed over to aftons to spend the rest of the vacation with her. We went to her boyfriends house on saturday noght and watched a movie and let the two girls play. they had so much fun together, kara was sad to have to leave but feel asleep within a couple of minutes being in the car. We eneded up in bed at 2 am and now on sunday we are getting ready to leave for home. we didnt get out of bed until 10:30 wich felt so heavenly. everyone was at church so we are packing and getting ready to head out around two. Fun times were had by all!

new news

Holli is now six months along in this wonderful pregnancy. We did find out we are having a GIRL! we are very excited. We were hoping for a boy but we are just as happy to be adding another angel to our family. Our son will come when it is time:) It has definitely been a very hard pregnancy for her. between having braxton hicks contractions and regular painful ones it has not been easy. She recently went to her doctor for a check up and found out that the opening to her cervix was extremely soft and so her doctor was afraid that she might start leaking fluid. Combined with the contractions it does not make for a great combination. So she has been taking it as easy as she can.
KaraLynn is right in the middle of potty training. She has been doing ok so far. We are only on day three of constant going, but have been trying to get her trained for several months. she just barely decided she was ready for it so needless to say we are ecstatic to not have to change two sets of diapers when the new one comes along. she is getting so big and her hair is super long. grows a lot faster than mom... She has been having a lot of fun with coloring books and likes to sing already. she is actually really accurate when she mimics notes. She will be three in May.
Steve is still working over at the Draper prison transporting inmates to various places. he loves it for the most part, but hates not knowing when he will be off work. the hours are so different every time its hard to plan anything. He is working really hard on the new baby room and it is so so cute. We are doing brown with pink and light green accents and i will post pictures when it is all complete. but he is really proud of how its turning out. He loves to come home and play with Kara. She misses him so much during the day so it is always a relief to see her happy and playing with her daddy... since he will have two he will have to share his adoration for both. somehow i think it will be really easy for him to do....
So thats our family right now. getting close to our second one and very excited for the whole prego thing to be over and done with. We will keep you posted.

Baby # 2

We just found out that we are going to be opening our arms to a second child! We are ecstatic. We have been trying for a year and a half and it finally paid off last week when my prego test read positive. I am due on January 4th 2009 MY BIRTHDAY!!!!!!! Crazy that that can actually happen. Its been a fun ride so far. Kara just turned two on the 16th of May, and she is in that terrible stage that we just LOVE:) I have the flu this week so I have been laying around battling headaches, morning sickness combined with achiness. It's been fantastic. I will keep everyone updated...

Well since we got nagged so much to have a blog, I decided to get on the ball and sign up on blogspot:)
My name is Holli, I am a massage therapist and went to school at Utah College of MAssage Therapy. I graduated in October of 2007. It has been a great deal of fun. I sing all the time and am a wedding singer for my mom's wedding business. I haven't had any business yet, but hope to have some soon. Hopefully I will get the courage to atleast try out for American Idol. Maybe next year.....

My husband Steve works at the Draper Prison as a transportation officer. As far as I know, he loves it. Except for the unknown time of when he can get off work. The schedule stinks, and sometimes he doesnt get home till very late. He is going through Post right now to be L.E.O certified. Those classes last 9 weeks and are very tiring. He goes into work between 5:30 and 7 am and sometimes won't be home until 11:00 or 11:30 pm! I am not happy about this shedule, but other days he should be home by six, so I wont complain.

Our daughter name is KaraLynn Marie Ohngren. She was born May 16, 2006, so she will be 2 in May. She is getting so big and it makes me so sad! She has her moments, but she has so many good times and her smile just makes it impossible to be any type of angry at her.... the Stinker!

We have been trying for number 2 for over a year now, so I am hoping any day to get some good news. I hope it's soon anyway. Im starting to get discouraged.

Well our family is looking to move to Texas very soon. We are going to put up our house for sale really quick and hope to have it sell fairly quick so we can save money until we move. Steve is looking to apply at the Mesquite Police dept. and the testing is in June or July, he doesnt know when he will be testing yet. We are very excited and feel very good about having some change in our scenery.
